Biography:
Bert leads SHI & COMPANY INC.’s Entrepreneurial Advisory Practice, bringing over two decades of hands-on experience as a founder, executive, and strategic advisor. At SHI & COMPANY INC., he works closely with entrepreneurs and leadership teams to develop growth strategies, secure capital, and prepare for successful exits. His approach combines real-world operating experience with a structured, investor-ready mindset, making him a trusted advisor for founders navigating complex inflection points.
Over the course of his career, Bert has held senior leadership positions including CEO, COO, President, and VP of Sales. He has managed cross-functional teams, overseen P&L responsibilities, and led operational transformations across early-stage ventures and scaling companies. His expertise spans financial modeling, KPI development, capital planning, marketing strategy, and team building, enabling him to move fluidly between high-level strategy and detailed execution.
Prior to joining SHI & COMPANY INC., Bert founded five companies in sectors ranging from SaaS to sustainable consumer goods. His latest venture was Local News Network, an innovative media company based in Colorado that is reinventing how local news is produced and monetized. One of these ventures was acquired in 2006 by a Fortune 500 company, providing him with deep insight into the full startup lifecycle.
He spent a decade in Asia, launching products and partnerships across China, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and developing a strong foundation in international business and culturally complex markets.
